Dwight Parker

Dwight Parker

Vice President

ELDER DWIGHT PARKER, a husband, father, preacher and teacher, is known for his wisdom and understanding of the scriptures and the basic principles found in the Word of God. He is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree through Moody Bible Institute. Dwight is best known as a true biblical example of Titus 1:6-9. He is a firm believer that the back bone of any ministry or community is a strong healthy family.

Dwight accepted Christ at the age of 17 at a neighbor’s bible study, where he continued to grow in his understanding and revelation of the scriptures. As a result, he developed a sincere appetite for the Word of God, and later joined a charismatic church where he developed his ability to teach and minister the word of God. Dwight served many leaders over the years, attending training conferences in every area of ministry. His mission was to fulfill the purpose and plan of God for his life.

Currently, Dwight (affectionately known as Elder D) serves as the Assistant Pastor at Set the Captives Free Outreach Center, Inc. He served in this capacity since the ministry’s founding in 2000, under the leadership of Pastor Linwood and Dr. Karen Bethea. STCF opened on April 9, 2000 with 5 adults and 7 children and has grown into a thriving ministry with over 2,000 members.

Elder D’s overall duties include: teaching, preaching, spiritually advising, and overseeing the Deacons Ministry, Prayer Circles, New Members Class and general church congregational matters. As the Assistant Pastor, Elder Dwight also serves in any capacity needed by the senior pastors. One of his greatest joys occurred in 2009, when he founded and still oversees the Operation Timothy Mentoring Program for boys ages 11 – 18.

Dwight has been blissfully married to Janice for more than 28 years and through this union they have 3 wonderful adult children, Dwight Jr. (26,) Duane (24,) and Dara (22). God has graced them with a revelation of marriage and family that they have shared with many over the past 28 plus years.

Psalm 127 (KJV): Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain. 2 It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.  3 Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.
